The Caisson shaft sinking system was originally designed for use with microtunnelling, but is now more widely used for construction of pumping stations, wet wells and manholes, particularly in difficult ground conditions.
 
Caisson shafts are by far the safest way to construct deep manholes, wet wells and pumping chambers due to the methodology of pushing the caisson rings as you dig, thus creating the excavation support as the excavation progresses.
 
Target Underground can install caisson shafts for many uses and can arrange for the M&E installations for pumping stations, valve chambers and the likes.
 
For deeper caisson shafts an excavator with extending boom and clamshell is utilised for the ‘mucking’ out of the shaft.
Target Underground can supply all the necessary plant and operators to carry out the construction of caissons.
